The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is now accepting nominations for the Wisconsin Organic Advisory Council (OAC) through April 15, 2026, according to a press release.

Open seats are available for organic farmers, organic businesses, organic consumers and at-large representatives. Council members serve three-year terms and meet at least four times per year, providing input on key issues shaping the state’s organic sector.

A committee made up of DATCP staff and current council members will review nominations and recommend appointments to DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski. New members will begin their terms at the council’s July 2026 meeting.

Nomination forms should outline why the candidate would be a strong addition to the council.

Completed forms can be mailed to: DATCP (Attn: Ben Becker, P.O. Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708) or emailed to benjamin.becker@wisconsin.gov. Questions can be directed to Ben Becker at (608) 320-6685.

The 12-member council represents a cross-section of Wisconsin’s organic industry, including farmers, businesses, consumers, certifiers and nonprofit leaders. It advises DATCP and other stakeholders on policies and opportunities to strengthen organic production, processing and markets across the state.

More information and nomination materials are available on the DATCP website.
