Produce wholesaler adds 2 veteran salespeople to organic team

Two sales veterans have joined the growing organic sales division of Maryland-based produce wholesaler Pete Pappas & Sons.

Kevin Benson, organic commodity manager, has three decades of experience in fresh produce. He brings expertise in organics and citrus sales to the company’s flagship Pete’s Garden Organics line.

“I always had a lot of respect over the years for how the Pappas team took care of their customer needs. I am thrilled to be with a great group of people, and a well-run business,” Benson said.

James McKinnis has more than 20 years’ experience in Southern and Northeastern markets and specializes in organic fresh produce sales.

“I am extremely happy to be working at a strong family owned and managed business like Pappas,” McKinnis said.

Pete Pappas & Sons celebrated 80 years in the produce business in 2022. Growing out of Smoky Mountain Family Farms in Tennessee, it offers premium packaged and bulk produce under its Patricia Brand and organics under Pete’s Garden Organic.
