Organic Grower Summit addresses seed availability

The Organic Grower Summit (OGS) will feature a session on organic seed production.

The session is one of six scheduled for the show, which is Nov. 29-30 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Spa in Monterey, California.

The session will provide OGS attendees an overview of how organic seed production has declined over the past few years and how this has been affecting the organic produce industry. The session begins at 8 a.m. Nov. 30.

Tom Willey, owner of T & D Willey Farms will moderate the session, with scheduled panelists:

• Theojary Crisantes, CEO of Wholesum Family Farms
• Michael Willey, North American production lead for Bayer Crop Science
• Jared Zystro, research and education director for the Organic Seed Alliance
• Zea Sonnabend, owner of Fruitilicious Farm
