Procidic, an agricultural bactericide and fungicide that provides disease control without synthetics, was recently launched by Greenspire Global.

“What sets Procidic apart is its safe formula; there are no added stressors to crops,” said Steve Knauss, President of Greenspire Global. “It is proven safe on a wide variety of fruit and vegetable crops, ornamentals and cut flowers.”

Procidic is an organic fungicide and bactericide formulated to protect crops during all stages of growth, working systemically and on contact, according to a release from Greenspire.  Procidic is rapidly absorbed into the plant and then moves toward its apex to allow new tissues to be free of infection while reducing the risk of future growth of bacteria and fungi. The company recommends it for management of various diseases including powdery mildew, bud rot and root rot. Used in pre- and post-harvest activities, fields treated with Procidic maintain normal in-field dry down times with no re-entry period after the spray settles.

Using Procidic can lessen or eliminate the need for traditional fungicides, according to a release from Greenspire. It is also a tool for rotation on programs for fungicide cross-resistance management.

Procidic is available in 2.5 gallon jugs. Totes are filled at 250 gallons. It will be distributed by Helena Chemical Company.

Des Moines, Iowa-based Greenspire Global manufactures and markets non-toxic products such as Procidic, Procidic2, SafeStrike, Luxiant and Sunonic that benefit a wide variety of conventional and organic crops including row crops, fruits, vegetables, trees and turf.
