Organic Innovation Symposium to focus on production challenges

The Organic Innovation Symposium, scheduled for Jan. 29, will bring together farmers, researchers and agricultural partners to examine practical approaches to organic farming.

The program will include farmer and researcher panels followed by roundtable discussions focused on three areas:

  • Specialty crops: Organic production and pest management.

  • Grains: Organic production and emerging markets.

The symposium will provide opportunities for participants to exchange information about production challenges, research and emerging opportunities in Kentucky’s organic agriculture sector.

Additional conference sessions Jan. 29 will address beginning farming and marketing.

Scholarships are available for beginning farmers, Kentucky farmers and students.

The conference will conclude Jan. 30 with Clark’s presentation on regenerative farming practices and their economic implications.
