Ciranda taps experienced food industry leader as new CEO

Ciranda, a leading North American provider of certified organic, non-GMO and fair trade food ingredients, has named a new CEO.

Doug Audette brings more than 30 years’ experience in the food industry to the role. Audette has worked in general management, sales, marketing and operational experience roles, primarily in food companies.

“It was essential for us to find a CEO who is not only proven at growing companies but also a cultural fit who can align our team around a common vision,” Victor Aspengren, Ciranda board chair, said in a news release. “Doug is known for excelling at both. We are delighted he is joining us and look forward to the positive impact his service-oriented, thoughtful and proven leadership will have on our business.”

Audette most recently served as president and CEO for United Hardware Distribution Co., which franchises Hardware Hank stores. There, he grew sales double digits since 2019 while navigating disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m excited to join Ciranda, a company that has been a true leader in the organic food movement and has much more growth potential in its future,” Audette said. “I look forward to using my experience and leadership skills for the benefit of Ciranda’s employee-owners, supply partners and customers, working together to serve people and communities around the world.”

Based in Hudson, Wisconsin, and founded in 1994, Ciranda supplies brands and manufacturers with certified organic and non-GMO ingredients, with a focus on sustainable supply and fair trade practices.
