CBD firm claims first certified-organic THC remediation

Carson City, Nevada’s Centuria Foods Inc. said Feb. 20 it had received organic certification from the USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) for its THC remediation process.

Centuria said it is becoming the first CBD company in North America to receive organic certification for such a process. USDA Certified Organic hemp extract is processed through a multi-stage organic purification process to create CBD products worthy of the USDA organic seal, according to a press release from the company. Centuria said it is the only company to offer a USDA Certified Organic remediation process capable of producing two distinct solutions: federally compliant (0.3% THC or below) full-spectrum oil, and THC-free, broad-spectrum oil.

The company said organic certification allows it to offer clients remediation solutions that reduce THC and boost the profile of minor cannabinoids – all while using USDA organic and plant-based solvents and catalysts in the process.

Centuria offers client-tailored hemp ingredients out of an NSF-certified manufacturing facility. The company proudly maintains a 55,000 square foot cGMP Compliant and an FDA Registered facility in Carson City, Nevada.
