2021 MOSES Conference to take place online

The Midwest Organic & Sustainable Education Service (MOSES) is planning to hold its annual farming conference only online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event on most Februarys draws thousands of people to an event center in Lacrosse Wisconsin, on the banks of the Mississippi.

MOSES addressed the news in its own Organic Broadcaster newspaper this week. The status of the conference was earlier reported in the LaCrosse Tribune.

“Given the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic, our team, board of directors, and our community (through our annual survey) agree that it’s wise not to gather in person in February,” the group wrote in the Organic Broadcaster. “We must prioritize the health and safety of our community.”

MOSES still plans to hold an online event in place of the physical conference and is asking growers to submit short video presentations that could be used in the online event. For more information, visit mosesorganic.org/conference.

Another winter trade event for the organic agriculture industry was recently canceled. Organic Grower Summit, which usually takes place in December in Monterey, California, will not be held this year, organizers said in a news release.
