Oregon Tilth elects new board president, adds board members for 2026-28

Oregon Tilth has elected new leadership to its board of directors for the 2026-28 term, selecting a board president and adding two new members as part of the organization’s annual governance process.

Stephanie Jerger, vice president of operations at the Organic Trade Association, was elected board president. Jerger, who has more than a decade of experience in the organic sector, will lead the nonprofit’s board as it continues work supporting organic certification, education and advocacy.

“I am honored to take on this role at such a critical juncture for organic as we work to continue shaping the future of our food system,” Jerger said. “This is a wonderful opportunity to help steward the next chapter of Oregon Tilth’s legacy, while also championing its integrity and purpose-driven mission.”

Oregon Tilth also welcomed two newly elected board members: Deirdre Geddes and Dr. TeKedra Pierre. Geddes, director of sales and marketing at Hummingbird Wholesale, has spent the past seven years building sales programs to support regional organic producers and broaden organic acreage in Oregon and neighboring states. She previously served as board secretary of the Oregon Farm to School Network and currently serves on her company’s employee-owned purpose trust board.

Pierre serves as director of the Information, Impact and Sustainability Center within the Prairie View A&M University College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. Her work focuses on agricultural marketing, communications and community engagement. She also founded Agletics, an initiative aimed at advancing agricultural literacy through creative engagement.

Oregon Tilth thanked outgoing board president Ani Kame’enui for her leadership and service during a period of growth and transition. The organization also recognized board member Tina Consentino for renewing her board term and her ongoing commitment to Oregon Tilth’s mission.

With the new leadership in place, Oregon Tilth said it will continue its focus on collaboration, transparency and community-centered governance while working to advance innovation, resilience and equity across organic agriculture.

Oregon Tilth is a nonprofit dedicated to organic certification and sustainable agriculture, serving farmers, ranchers and businesses across the organic sector.
