Webinar to highlight organic research on soil health, pest management
A free webinar will spotlight the latest research in organic agriculture with a focus on conservation practices aligned with the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) priorities.
Hosted by the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF), the event is scheduled for June 17 at 1 PM EDT and is open to farmers, conservation professionals, agronomists and others working in organic and sustainable agriculture. The session will explore recent peer-reviewed research in organic pest management, diversified cropping systems and practices aimed at building soil organic carbon.
The content is designed to align with NRCS Resource Concerns and Conservation Practice Standards, offering attendees a science-based look at effective strategies for improving soil health and crop resilience while minimizing environmental impact. Presenters will discuss specific treatments and results drawn from current organic research trials, helping participants better understand how to integrate these approaches into conservation planning and on-farm practices.
Attendees will have the chance to engage in a live Q&A session following the presentations. In addition, quiz questions will be offered to help reinforce key concepts. Certified Crop Advisors can earn Continuing Education Credits by participating in the webinar.
With interest in organic agriculture growing and soil health becoming a top priority in conservation policy, the webinar provides a timely update on how the latest science can support both productivity and sustainability goals.
