“Johann has the vision to see business opportunities and the technical acumen to guide those opportunities from vision to technical sales execution,” BioAg CEO Vik Sakahlkar said in a news release.

In his new role, Buck will anticipate customer needs, deliver innovative products and provide exceptional services to BioAg’s existing and new customers, Sakahikar said.

As Director of Technical Services and Innovation, Buck will identify innovative solutions and supporting strategies for implementation, according to the news release. This will include leveraging technology to develop and introduce products or capabilities to new and existing markets.

Buck began working in agriculture 24 years ago as a tomato picker for a small family-owned hydroponic greenhouse in north-central Kansas, according to the release. His subsequent experience includes roles in technical services, product development and sales across many facets of agriculture including field and greenhouse production of food, ornamental and turf crops. He holds a bachelor’s in agriculture from Fort Hays State University, a master’s in plant science from the University of Arizona and a doctorate in plant science from the University of Arkansas.

BioAg, established in 1981, offers a growing portfolio of biostimulant, specialty nutrients and biological growth solutions for the greenhouse, fruit, vegetable, cannabis, hemp, indoor agriculture and specialty agriculture markets, and continues to explore opportunities to answer demand for growers in all segments of agriculture.
