OFRF workshop helps growers, researchers communicate with legislators

The Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) is presenting another workshop to help farmers and agricultural researchers communicate with legislators.

The workshop will be presented four times, but it covers the same material. Registration is free.

The workshops are scheduled for:

• 7-8:30 p.m. Eastern, Sept. 21
• 1-2:30 p.m. Eastern, Oct. 11
• 5:30-7 p.m. Eastern, Oct. 30
• Noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern, Nov. 21

The workshop is designed to provide researchers and farmers with the tools and resources needed to effectively communicate their research and the importance of their work to policymakers and the general public. They will focus on the unique challenges and opportunities of working at public universities as well as the time constraints of farming. The workshop will cover topics such as communicating research findings to non-researchers, building relationships with policymakers and stakeholders, and how to reach work with an institution’s government relations office.
