OFRF to host “Organic 101 for Extension Agents” webinar on Jan. 29

The Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) will host a free webinar for extension agents on organic certification and standards Jan. 29.

The 75-minute virtual session, titled “Organic 101 for Extension Agents: Understanding Certification, Standards, and Producer Journeys,” is designed to help Extension agents and technical service providers better support organic and transitioning growers. The webinar will run from 1 to 2:15 p.m. EST and is hosted by OFRF in partnership with Oregon Tilth and Western SARE.

The first portion of the webinar will cover the fundamentals of organic certification and USDA organic standards. The second half will feature a farmer panel highlighting real-world certification experiences and producer pathways.

Panelists include April Thatcher of April Joy Farm in Washington, Beth Hoinacki of Goodfoot Farm in Oregon, and Diane Green of Greentree Naturals in Idaho.
