BioSafe Systems’ SaniDate WTO gains EPA approval for organic irrigation use

BioSafe Systems has announced that its SaniDate WTO is now an EPA-registered product designed to reduce and control foodborne bacterial pathogens in organic preharvest irrigation water.

This solution is specifically approved for combating Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC), including O157 and Salmonella enterica, two of the most common causes of foodborne illness.

“SaniDate WTO provides organic growers a more sustainable and effective alternative to chlorine treatments, offering superior pathogen control without adding sodium or chloride to soils,” said Jay Sughroue, agriculture southwest area manager at BioSafe Systems.
