Organic program helps growers find their own solutions
Are you an organic or transitioning farmer or rancher with a production idea that you would like to test at your farm? Are you looking for some funding and technical support that can help you conduct this research?
The Organic Farming Research Foundation’s (OFRF) new Farmer-Led Trial (FLT) Program was created to help organic growers reach their goals.
This new program will provide growers with the necessary tools to investigate and learn about solutions to their most pressing production challenges through structured scientific exploration.
Applications for the Farmer Led Trials Program are open until Dec. 3.
If you are curious about this opportunity, join OFRF for an information webinar at noon Pacific on Nov. 8. The webinar, “Farmers are researchers: Conducting your own on-farm research,” will feature information about conducting on-farm trials and how to apply for the FLT program. Registration is required.
As part of the OFRF FLT program, the organization also offers an accompanying publication, “Farmers Guide to On Farm Research.” To check out the guide and find out more information about the program, visit the OFRF website.
