Organic Grower Summit showcases power of research

The Organic Grower Summit will highlight research by the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) and the University of California Organic Agriculture Institute (OAI).

An interactive workshop, “Understanding Evolving Production Challenges for Organic Growers,” will delve into the OFRF’s California Organic Research Agenda report as well as ongoing research at the University of California’s OAI. Workshop attendees will hear from a panel of organic farmers and researchers about the immense value of farmer knowledge networks and the transformative power of researcher-producer collaborations.

Brise Tensor, executive director of the OFRF, will moderate the panel, which will feature these speakers:

• Larry Jacobs, president and co-founder of Jacobs Farm del Cabo
• Shriya Rangarajan of the UC’s OAI
• Darryl Wong, executive director of the UCSC Agroecology Center
