Nominations open for California organic advisory committee
The California Department of Food and Agriculture is seeking nominations to fill eight vacancies on the California Organic Products Advisory Committee.
Appointments will be; two producer representatives, one alternate producer representative, one wholesale distributor representative, two processor representatives, one alternate processor representative, and one consumer representative.
The California Organic Products Act of 2003 established the 15-member committee to advise CDFA Secretary William (Bill) J. The consumer representative must not have a financial interest in the direct sales or marketing of organic products.
The Department invites written nominations for possible appointment to the committee. Nominations should include the nominee’s name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement outlining credentials and experience.
Nominations will be accepted until the positions are filled. Nominations can be mailed to CDFA Organic Program, 1220 N Street, Sacramento, CA 95814, or e-mailed to Rgreen@cdfa.ca.gov. For additional information contact Ray Green, 916-445-2180, extension 3506.
