Organic Grower Summit in December opens general registration
General registration for the third annual Organic Grower Summit is now open, with planning of educational sessions being finalized for the only event specifically designed to bring organic fresh food producers and their service and supply chain partners together for information, education and networking opportunities related to the multi-billion dollar organic fresh food industry.
Organic Grower Summit 2019, produced by partners California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) and Organic Produce Network (OPN), will be held Dec. 4-5 at the Monterey Conference Center in Monterey, California. General registration for OGS 2019 is all-inclusive, with access to all OGS activities including the gala opening reception, all educational sessions and the trade show floor.
“The summit will provide up-to-date resources and information to support the continued success of organic producers,” said Kelly Damewood, CCOF Executive Director/CEO. “From seed to soil to harvest, our goal is to present the most relevant information on the most important subjects and issues facing organic production.”
New for OGS 2019 is an opportunity for smaller sized start-up companies to be a part of the sold-out trade show floor with the new Start-UP Hub area. Also, as part of this year’s event is an expanded educational emphasis on those companies who are disrupting ag technology for greater efficiency and savings.
“For this years OGS, we continue to respond to the changing landscape of organic fresh food production and those companies that are truly impacting the industry. We recognize companies are in different stages of their life cycle, and for many companies starting out, the resources may not be available to showcase how they are disrupting the business,” said Tonya Antle, co-founder of OPN. “Our new Start-UP Hub on the trade show floor allows for newer and
smaller-sized companies to participate at OGS at a reduced rate.”
Kicking off the educational part of OGS, will be a pair of educational intensives focused on Soil Health and Organic Ag Technology Disruptors. A series of educational sessions will touch on areas including:
- The Growing Hemp Market in the U.S.
- Reducing Risk through Soil Health Practices.
- Organic Farming in the Age of FSMA.
- Organic Sales Data Dive.
A pair of major keynote presentations will also be announced later this month.
With 38 sponsors already committed to the event, OGS exhibitors will include soil amendment, food safety, ag technology, and equipment manufacturers connecting with organic field production staff, supply chain managers, pest management advisors, and food safety experts.
