Monarch Tractor makes CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list for 2nd consecutive year
Monarch Tractor, maker of the fully electric MK-V smart tractor, has made CNBC’s Disruptor 50 list for the second consecutive year.
The driver-optional MK-V, with 14 hours of battery runtime and 70 peak horsepower, launched commercially in December 2022.
The tractor combines electrification, automation and data analysis to help farmers reduce their carbon footprint, improve field safety, streamline farming operations and increase profitability, according to a news release from the company.
“It’s been an incredible year of development for our team, and being named to this esteemed list for the second year in a row is extremely validating of all the work we’ve been doing,” Praveen Penmetsa, Monarch CEO and co-founder, said in the release. “We’ve celebrated some large milestones recently and we are excited to sustain this momentum as we continue to deliver Monarch’s solutions to farmers nationally and globally.”
The 11th annual Disruptor 50 list recognizes breakthrough, venture-backed startups developing new technology into scalable business models. Nominees are scored across quantitative and qualitative criteria including scalability, revenue and user growth, and workforce diversity, according to CNBC.
Monarch’s MK-V has also received recognition in the 2023 THRIVE TOP 50 AgTech FoodTech Report and Forbes America’s Best Startup Employers 2023 and was named a CES 2022 Innovation Award honoree in the robotics category.
