FIRA USA has opened nominations for its 2026 Women in Agricultural Innovation Award, expanding the program beyond agricultural robotics to recognize women working across the broader agtech sector.

The award, launched in 2025 as the Women in AgRobotics of the Year Award, now covers innovation in robotics, autonomous systems, precision agriculture, data and artificial intelligence, biotechnology, digital tools, sensors, software and irrigation.

Nominations are due Oct. 5. The award is open to women in influential or strategic roles in agriculture, robotics or AgTech. Candidates will be evaluated on professional contributions and achievements, the scope of their innovation, project impact, leadership and role-model qualities. Applicants are also asked to submit a personal statement and a video introduction of up to two minutes.

“Agricultural innovation is stronger when the women shaping it are visible, heard and connected across borders,” said Maialen Cazenave, co-director of the Global Organization for Agricultural Robotics (GOFAR) and FIRA events. “This award is an opportunity to recognize the leaders whose ideas and determination are helping agriculture evolve for the future.”

Arha Padman, chief marketing officer and member of the founder’s office at Niqo Robotics, received the inaugural award in 2025 for her work in AI-powered agricultural robotics.

A jury representing agriculture, robotics and AgTech will review the 2026 entries. The winner will be recognized during FIRA USA 2026, scheduled for Oct. 20-22 in Yakima, Washington.
